How do I update my cash out email?

  1. Click the profile icon to the top right of your account, then select ‘Account’ from the dropdown menu
  2. On your account page, you should see a section for ‘PAYMENT METHOD’ with ‘PayPay account’ underneath. Click the ‘Edit button’
  3. Enter your Prolific password in the pop-up
  4. Click the ‘Connect with PayPal’ button
  5. In the pop-up, enter your PayPal email address or associated phone number for the account you wish to link to your Prolific account
  6. You can then update the PayPal email on your Prolific account

The ‘Connect with PayPal’ button doesn’t appear

If the button is not appearing, this is usually down to an adblocker or similar on your browser or device. Make sure to disable any adblockers you may be using. It may also help to try on an alternative browser or device.


I can’t get past the Prolific or PayPal login screen

Make sure that your email address and password are correct. If you are using Google passwords or other saved passwords, this could be causing the issue.

We would suggest disabling any saved passwords you have for Prolific, or attempting to update your PayPal on an alternative browser or device. This will ensure that incorrect details are not being inputted automatically.

If you do not know a password due to it being a generated password, you will need to update your password to one that you know before trying to link your PayPal address again.

The update doesn’t seem to have gone through

First, verify that you've entered the correct PayPal email address and that it belongs to a fully verified PayPal account.

If those details are correct, there might be a processing issue. PayPal may have flagged limitations or problems with your account. In this case, contact PayPal directly to resolve any account issues. You can reach them here.

When contacting Support, please provide details of any error messages received and steps you've already taken to troubleshoot the issue.
