What is an AI taskers?

AI taskers are a special group of Prolific participants with proven skills in completing AI evaluation and training tasks. They’ve passed our AI Task Assessment and agreed to our Specialized Participant Terms.

As an AI tasker, you’ll have access to exclusive AI studies that require specific experience and skills. Researchers use this group to find skilled participants for training and testing AI models, so you'll play a key role in advancing cutting-edge research.

How do I become an AI tasker?

To join the AI tasker group, you’ll need to pass our AI Task Assessment. This is a two-part test designed to simulate real-world AI studies.

Here’s how it works:

1. Prolific identifies participants who meet our pre-vetting criteria, like high approval rates and strong performance on past studies.
2. Pre-vetted participants will be invited to agree to the Specialized Participant Terms and complete the AI Task Assessment.

Key points to know:

• Not passing the assessment doesn’t affect your Prolific account status.
• Passing gives you access to more opportunities to take high-paying AI studies.

What changes if I become an AI tasker?

Your general Prolific experience will remain the same. You’ll still see and participate in regular studies, but as an AI tasker, you’ll also notice additional AI-focused studies in your dashboard.

How will I know if I’m selected?

If selected, you’ll see specialized AI studies appear on your dashboard. They’ll be clearly marked as requiring the Specialized Participant Terms.

Are AI studies paid differently?

The base pay is the same as other studies. However, because these tasks are often more complex, they typically come with higher rewards.

What if I want to become an AI tasker but haven’t been invited?

We’re starting small and gradually rolling out this group. If you haven’t been invited yet, don’t worry—we hope to expand access soon.

What if I change my mind about being an AI tasker?

No problem! You can simply ignore the specialized studies in your dashboard if you don’t want to participate.
