Where can I see my balance?
You can see your balance at the top of your account.
Balance | Displays a current estimate of how much you have overall, including pending payments. |
Pending | Shows how much money you've earned, but researchers haven't yet approved. |
Clicking the Balance section takes you to your Balance hub, where you can see a breakdown of your earnings by currency and view how much money is available to cash out.

How can I see my total earnings?
Click the Submissions section at the top of your account to view a summary in the top right corner showing your total earnings since joining Prolific.

You can also see a breakdown of individual payments by downloading your submission history. Scroll to the bottom of the submission page to find the 'Download full submission history' button. The breakdown shows all payments in chronological order since you started participating on Prolific.
Why has my balance decreased?
Prolific will never deduct approved funds from your account. There could, however, be a couple of reasons why your balance may decrease:
- If a study is rejected or returned, it will be removed from your pending and overall balance since you won't receive payment for it.
- Your estimated total balance shows your combined USD and GBP payments converted into a single currency. This amount can fluctuate based on the daily exchange rate that day. For accurate earnings, check your Balance hub, which displays each currency amount separately.
